This remarkable ebonized wood clock is raised by a square base with richly chased lion paw feet centered by a female head amidst scrolling acanthus leaves.
The features a very fine and delicate brass marquetry in the manner of Boulle forming scrolling foliage, flowers as well as silhouettes of classical scenes.
Leading up is the enamel dial with Roman numerals incased by additional scrolling ormolu mounts, the whole is raised by an impressive bronze figure of chronos, god of time holding his scythe.
